About

Hard things,
done together.

The Family Forge exists on one belief: the families that stay close are the ones that do difficult things side by side and then talk about it honestly.

Est. 2009

Everything we publish is built around that. A Forge Session isn't just a workout — it's a reason to be in the same place, out of breath, at the same time. The barbell is the excuse. The conversation afterward is the point.

We give the sessions away because a family shouldn't need a gym membership, an app subscription, or a coach on retainer to get strong together. You need a plan, a timer, and someone willing to say "we're doing this today." The plan is the part we can hand you.

What we believe

Five things we won't move on.

Nobody sits out

Every session scales three ways so a nine-year-old and a forty-year-old can run the same workout without one being bored and the other being broken. Different tier, same session, same finish line.

Effort is the standard

We don't celebrate the fastest time. We celebrate showing up, giving real effort, encouraging each other, and finishing together. That's a win worth celebrating — and it's the only one we score.

The lesson isn't decoration

Every session ends with a Forge Lesson and a Family Question. Skipping it means you did a workout instead of building something. Five minutes of honest conversation is where the work actually lands.

Strength is preparation

We're not training for a stage. We're training for the day life adds weight without asking — a diagnosis, a move, a hard season. Strength under pressure makes you unshakable, and that's practiced, not wished for.

Free stays free

The Forge Sessions will always be free — no paywall, no email required, no upsell buried in the middle of a workout. Coaching and counseling are how we keep the lights on, and they're there if you want them. The sessions don't depend on it.

The method

How a Forge Session gets built.

Every session follows the same architecture on purpose. Once your family has done one, you already know how to do all of them — which means the friction to start drops to zero.

See the sessions
  1. A focus

One quality to build — work capacity, endurance, resilience, mental toughness.

  2. A real warm-up

Five to seven minutes of movement that earns you the right to load up.

  3. A workout that scales

Simple movements, honest reps, any equipment or none at all.

  4. A family challenge

Something to chase as a team, so it's never one person against another.

  5. A lesson and a question

The tie between what you just did and what you're actually carrying.

Built by a family, for families.

Brittany Cramer

Founder & Fitness Coach

Brittany founded The Family Forge and writes the sessions. She coaches individuals, couples, and whole families — the same way she programs the free workouts: simple movements, honest scaling, and a standard everybody in the room can actually meet.

Her whole approach starts from the belief that fitness is a family activity, not a private hobby you leave the house for. If a workout can't be run by a parent, in a yard, with whatever's in the garage, it isn't much use to most families — so that's the constraint every Forge Session is built inside.

Brittany handles the fitness side. For the counseling side we point families to our friends at Mountain Family Therapy, a separate licensed practice we trust. Two different problems — bodies that need to get stronger, and families that need to get closer. Sometimes a family needs a program. Sometimes it needs a licensed counselor in the room. Often it needs both, and there's no shame in either.

Straight answer

If you reach out and we're not the right fit — wrong specialty, wrong state, wrong stage — we'll tell you that and point you somewhere better. We'd rather lose the client than waste your month.
